Adalat XL Indications
Adalat XL is an oral prescription drug to treat chronic stable angina or effort-associated angina without evidence of vasospasm. This is also indicated to manage mild to moderate essential hypertension.
Adalax XL Dosage Forms
This is available in Adalat XL 30mg, 20 mg, and 60 mg extended-release tablets.
Adalat XL Mechanism of Action
It blocks specific calcium channels in the vascular smooth muscle and myocardial cells, which hampers calcium ion entry into the cells during depolarization. It results in having the capacity to lessen peripheral arterial vascular resistance and stimulate the dilation of coronary arteries. As a result, this medication can reduce blood pressure and increase the oxygen supply in the heart, thus, relieving angina.
