Ddavp Melt Mechanism of Action
This oral lyophilisate mainly stimulates vasopressin 2 or V2 receptors. This then results in an increase in water reabsorption in the kidneys and a reduction in urine production. In addition, this oral medication can also enhance platelet function by increasing the release of von Willebrand factor or vWF and factor VIII from the endothelium.
How to Take Ddavp Melt
Before starting to take Ddavp Melt, it is necessary to read the information leaflet or medication guide given by a healthcare professional. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for further medical advice or additional details if you do not understand the uses and directions of this medication.
This oral medication is meant to be taken sublingually. This is usually prescribed three times a day or as prescribed by the physician. You may administer it with or without a meal. Place the tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve. It may take a few seconds or minutes for the medication to be completely absorbed. You may have to limit the drinking of water while on this treatment.
