Description
Fragmin is used to prevent blood clots. This medication is a blood thinner and is also used to prevent blood vessel complications for people with angina and heart attack.
Store Fragmin at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Only use one vial for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks have passed throw away the vial and start a new one.
If you have high blood pressure, a blood disorder, a stomach ulcer or problem with bleeding, kidney or liver disease, a genetic spinal defect, or have ever had low blood platelets after taking heparin, consult your doctor before using this medication. If you have problems with your eyes which are related to diabetes or high blood pressure you should check with your health care provider if this medication is right for you before commencing use.
Other drugs may interact with this medication. Ask your doctor about combining medications.
Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed to you by your health care professional. Follow the provided instructions for safe patient use. Do not self inject this medicine until you properly understand how to inject the medication and how to dispose of the needles.
If you have allergies to any ingredients listed on this medication or have allergies to dalteparin. If you have uncontrolled bleeding, a lack of blood platelets, or have allergies to pork products do not use Fragmin. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant. Although it may not be harmful to an unborn baby its effects are unknown.
