Do not eat foods with high levels of tyramine. Do not eat air dried meats, aged meats, sausage, salami, pickled herring, beer from tap, unpasteurized beer, aged cheese, over the counter medications containing tyramine, sauerkraut, soy beans, soy sause, tofu, miso soup, bean curd, or yeast extracts.
Patient Family Information : Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed to you by your health care provider. There are foods you cannot eat while you are using this medication and for 14 days after you stop using this medication. You may eat fresh meat, vegetables (except broad bean pods), processed cheese, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, soy milk, yogurt, or baker’s yeast. Take this medication without any liquids. Dissolve the whole tablet in your mouth. Do not eat or drink until 5 minutes after taking this medication.
If you have allergies to selegiline do not use this medication. If you have used any medications in the past 14 days- including non-prescription medications-inform your doctor which medications you have used.
