Dosage Forms

This is available in Zonegran 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg capsules.

Zonegran Mechanism of Action

The precise action of this anticonvulsant is unknown. However, it is thought that it can block sodium channels and reduce voltage-dependent and transient inward currents, which stabilizes neuronal membranes and suppresses neuronal hypersynchronization.

How to Take Zonegran

The capsule is only meant to be taken by mouth. This is often given once or twice a day. It can be consumed with or without food. Swallow the capsule entirely and drink plenty of water to prevent kidney stone formation.
